Tom Markham, Kevin Treacy and Bryan Wallace all graduated from the Engineering School of University College Dublin in the mid 1970’s and have now come together to offer a new Engineering Practice based in the North side of Dublin. Tom Markham, Chartered Engineer, BE, MIEI Tom worked initially with the Department of Defence in Dublin, Athlone and South Lebanon where he was involved in both large scale construction projects and the evaluation and maintenance of a broad based building portfolio. Since 1990, he has operated as a Consultant Engineer operating initially as Engineering Concepts Ltd. and now as Tom Markham and Associates. This well established North Side practice has covered the normal range of projects and has shown a particular interest in areas associated with health care. Kevin Treacy, Chartered Engineer, BE, DipPM, MIEI, MIStructE As an equity partner of McGrane & Partners, Architects and Engineers in Dublin until 1986, Kevin was responsible for all engineering works undertaken by the practice. These included the design of projects in the residential, commercial, industrial and education sectors throughout Ireland. From 1987 until 1999, Kevin has worked in the UK for major consultancies and contractors. These include the consultancy firms Building Design Partnership, Travers Morgan and Oscar Faber, and the contractors Mowlem and Norwest Holst. Major international project experience was gained with Asahi Juken Japan, where Kevin headed the structures department of their London-based design office. Bryan Wallace, Chartered Engineer, BE, FIEI, MICT Bryan worked initially with a Contractor in the UK. Since returning to Ireland he has been with the Department of Defence, and as Chief Engineer for Dublin and North Leinster since 1997. In his work he has been involved all aspects of building construction from design through project management to maintenance. He acted as Structural Engineer on many projects from refurbishment of Listed buildings to office and industrial units. His interest in concrete led to his Diploma in Advanced Concrete Technology and a detailed assessment of the runways at Baldonnel. He was also involved in the construction of the new hangar and extension to the apron. |
